On 3 May 2023, N.K.Bagrodia Public School,  Dwarka has been felicitated with honour by Directorate of Education and Ladli foundation for initiating social internship and perfectly executing the assigned tasks as a part of the Social Internship Program to overcome Malnutrition.

Ladli Foundation had initiated a social internship for the students of class 11 wherein they were assigned malnutrition as the task to be completed in the first week of the program.

Organized at Thyagraj Stadium, New Delhi, this event was attended by over 5,500 people consisting of DDEs , HOS, Special Educators , teachers, participants, interns and other respected dignitaries. The welcome address was given by Mr. Ram Chandra Singhare, ( SPD (SAMAGRA SHIKSHA) inaugurating the ceremony on an auspicious note. Introducing the program was Mr. Ajay Singh, who invigorated the hearts of those in attendance with his inspiring words.

Ms. Stuti Gaur, Special Educator and Counselor with Directorate of Education, Govt. of NCT Delhi  gave an enlightening presentation, covering the impacts, symptoms and preventive measures taken by DoE for malnutrition. Holding hands with WHO, the directorate introduced Anthroplus software as a system for malnutrition identification and categorization. 18,12,102 children were taken under this survey revealing 4,08,033 to be falling under the red zone as classified by Anthroplus indicating severe undernutrition.

The august gathering was addressed by the Director ( Directorate of Education) , Mr. Himanshu Gupta, who spoke of the actions taken by the directorate of education to eradicate malnutrition. DoE has taken several provisions to identify and act upon the nutritional deficiencies of affected students. These include mini snack breaks, parental counseling, weekly planning and much more.

Mr. Devendra Kumar, founder  Ladli Foundation highlighted the impact of malnutrition on young children and the actions Ladli is taking for the prevention. This internship has become the world’s largest action research program.

The interns presented their prepared information that had been a part of the task 1 of this internship. The interns from NK Bagrodia School who have been enthusiastic participants of assigned tasks with energy and excitement are Kanak Chaudhary, Mannat Kaur Tulli, Tanya Bhardawaj, Shourya Singh and Manya Sharma under guidance of  mentors HOS Ms.Anjali Kharbanda,  coordinators Ms. Smita Sharma , Ms. Shweta Tulsyan. It was really a lifetime achievement for the students and teachers  to share the stage with dignitaries and get felicitated in recognition of their work and execution for this project. The efforts of the school were lauded for the same.

For everyone who have been involved in working on the tasks, organizing the workshop and attending the ceremony, this internship has been a great opportunity to learn and expand their horizons.
